Nepal’s stock market is moving toward more modern and independent trading. As of now, 11 brokerage firms have started using their own Trade Management Systems (TMS) instead of relying on the system provided by the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).
Among these, 10 brokers are using the DigiHub A-Trade system, while Naasa Securities (Broker No. 58) has launched its own platform called NaasaX.
From NEPSE’s Centralized System to Broker-Owned TMS
Until recently, all brokers in Nepal depended on NEPSE’s TMS to trade shares. While the system allowed trading, it had several limits. They can update the system whenever they want and gradually improve it according to their clients’ needs.
Most of the new TMS platforms were purchased through DigiHub Pvt. Ltd., which provides software developed by IronOne Technologies of Sri Lanka. Around three dozen brokers have already signed agreements to buy these systems, and more are expected to join in the coming months.
