Do you invest in the stock market? If you trade shares, you can easily perform online trading through the Nepse Trade Management System (Nepse TMS).

This platform connects investors directly to brokers and the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), making online share trading fast and convenient.

Once you receive your username and password from your broker, you can log in to the NEPSE Online Trading System (NOTS) using your broker’s TMS login URL.

Each broker has a unique TMS URL. The table below includes the list of all brokers and their login links so that you can access the correct trading portal easily.

What is TMS?

The full form of TMS is Trade Management System. In the stock market, it is commonly called TMS.

The number of investors trading in the stock market is increasing every day. Since online share trading became possible, more investors have been attracted to it.

In the early days of the Nepali stock market, investors had to go to the bank to apply for share purchases. Later, they had to visit broker offices and shout out orders. But over time, share trading became possible online — through a system called TMS (Trade Management System).

These days, the number of investors trading in the secondary market continues to rise. Many investors who opened a Demat account to apply for IPOs are still confused about how to sell their shares or trade in the secondary market using TMS.

Since the introduction of TMS, investors can now buy and sell shares from anywhere — home, office, or any place — using a computer, laptop, or mobile device.

To use TMS, you must first visit a broker office and open a TMS account. This service is provided by brokerage companies. You’ll need to fill out a form to open a separate TMS account and get your User ID and Password.

There is no fee for getting a TMS account. After updating your KYC form at your broker office, you can apply for TMS. Your TMS login details (username and password) will be sent to your email by the broker.

How to trade using TMS

Each broker office is identified by a unique broker number. Based on that number, each broker has a different login link, but the system and functions are the same for everyone.

To trade, go to your broker’s TMS login URL, enter your username and password, and log in. Once logged in, you can place buy or sell orders directly from the system.

After receiving your username and password, you can trade from Sunday to Thursday, 11 AM to 3 PM, except on holidays. There is also a pre-open session from 10:30 AM to 10:45 AM, where you can place limited trades.

To sell shares in TMS, click on the Sell option, enter the company name, number of shares, and price, and submit. The system immediately shows whether your shares are sold or not, so there’s little chance of confusion.

You can place your order up to 2% above or below the current market price.

To buy shares, go to the Buy section, enter the company name, quantity, and price, and submit your order. You’ll need to deposit some collateral (margin money) with your broker before trading.

How much are the trading charges?

The share trading commission is based on the transaction amount:

When you sell shares, a 5% capital gains tax is charged only on the profit. There’s also a DP fee of Rs. 25 per transaction, and the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) charges an additional 0.015% commission.

After selling your shares, you must complete EDIS (Electronic Deposit Instruction Slip) authorization. It’s a permission process allowing your broker to transfer your sold shares. You must approve the EDIS by 3 PM on the next working day after the sale.

If you fail to do so, you may face penalties or fines.
