On Sunday, the first trading day after the Tihar festival, the secondary market of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded transactions worth over Rs. 2 arba 66 crore, involving more than 55 lakh 96 thousand shares.
In comparison, on the last trading day before Tihar, the market had witnessed over Rs. 2 arba 79 crore worth of transactions from more than 61 lakh 99 thousand shares. Both the total transaction amount and share volume declined on Sunday.

The NEPSE index rose by 5.19 points, closing at 2,509.04 points.
During the session, the index touched a low of 2,469.37 points and reached an intraday high of 2,509.08 points before closing.
98 companies recorded a price gain.
146 companies saw a decline.
4 companies remained unchanged.
The day’s candlestick pattern formed a green hammer, which technical analysts say often signals potential upward movement in the market. The small green candle with a long lower shadow suggests that buyers gained strength over sellers, pushing prices upward.

Taragaon Regency Hotel Limited faced the sharpest decline of the day.

Total transaction: Over Rs. 2 crore 1 lakh from 27,892 shares
The company’s stock declined following its decision to temporarily close the hotel for rebuilding after damages caused during the Gen Z protest on Bhadra 23–24.
