NEPSE Closure and Four Consecutive Public Holidays Announced

Starting from Jestha 14, there will be a continuous public holiday for four days. The government has decided to provide a public holiday on Thursday, Jestha 14, on the occasion of Bakra Eid. Following this, there will be another public holiday on Friday, Jestha 15, to celebrate Republic Day.

Impact on Financial Sector and Weekly Holidays

Since Saturday, Jestha 16, and Sunday, Jestha 17, are regular weekly holidays, the government and financial sectors will remain closed for four consecutive days. During this period, all government offices, public entities, banks, and financial institutions across the country will not operate.

Closure of the Nepal Stock Exchange

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) will also remain closed during these four days. Share trading activities will be suspended throughout the holiday period and will resume only after the holidays conclude. This long break affects all major public services and the national stock market.
