Jhapa Energy solar power plant partially shuts down
Jhapa Energy Limited’s solar power project has partially stopped generating electricity after a fire incident happened at its project site in Jhapa. The company is currently working to assess the damage and start repairs.
According to the company, the fire broke out in one of the two 5 MVA capacity inverters installed at the 10 megawatt grid-connected solar power project. This project is operating at Shivasatakshi-4 in Jhapa. The incident took place in Jestha 18, 2083 B.S. at around 1:42 PM in afternoon.
Due to this fire accident, about 5 megawatt of electricity generation has been disrupted. Jhapa Energy said that they are already carrying out damage assessment and maintenance work to bring the solar plant back to full operation.
