NEPSE Slips After a Week of Gains as Market Sees Mild Correction

Index Declines on Sunday, The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) edged lower today, marking a pause in the steady rise seen throughout last week.
The benchmark index fell by 0.99%, or 26.51 points, and closed at 2,649.52 points.

Turnover Continues to Improve

Although the index retreated, investor activity remained strong.
Today’s trading turnover crossed Rs. 7 arba 8 crore, up from Rs. 6 arba 66 crore recorded in the previous session.

On the candlestick chart, NEPSE formed a long red candle with an extended upper wick, indicating that selling pressure increased once the index approached higher levels.

Recent Trend and Market Outlook

The market had been sliding since Kartik 17 before showing a strong rebound from the start of last week.
During the final three sessions of the week, NEPSE moved upward despite visible resistance, creating a ‘W-shaped’ pattern on the chart.

Even with today’s drop, the index closed near the upper point of that pattern. Analysts believe this positioning could support further upside if the market maintains momentum.
NEPSE is currently hovering around the 2,600-point resistance zone, a level traders are closely watching. A break above this region may open room for additional gains, while a pullback could trigger renewed weakness.
