Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel has clarified that the National Examination Board did not rush to publish the recent exam results. Responding to public concerns, the minister explained that the timely publication was made possible by adding extra staff and cutting down unnecessary administrative red tape.
Taking to social media, Minister Pokharel shared that the ministry stands firm and confident in the examination board’s process. He wrote that there was no haste in publishing the results. Instead, the team worked efficiently by managing extra manpower and shortening unnecessary administrative steps to ensure the results came out right on schedule.
Respecting Peaceful Protests and Demanding Decency
Addressing the ongoing protests regarding the exam outcomes, Minister Pokharel expressed his respect for peaceful demonstrations. He noted that in a democratic society, every citizen has the right to voice their opinions and concerns.
However, the minister expressed concern over negative and disrespectful comments directed at students on social media. He urged the public to refrain from using abusive language, misbehaving, or making insulting remarks against protesting students or any other group.
Committee Formed for Independent Verification
To address the questions and doubts raised about the evaluation process, the Ministry of Education and Sports has formed an independent committee. This committee includes under-secretaries from both the ministry and the Curriculum Development Center.
The newly formed committee is tasked with conducting a fair review. They will perform sampling tests of answer sheets, verify exam scores, and double-check data entry to ensure accuracy and transparency in the grading system.
